Well, I was elected to the Ellerbe Town Council in 2015 at the age of 28. I was re-elected in 2019 and currently serving my second term.
My experience on the Town Council has been trying but rewarding. I built relationships with my citizens and outside of my town, being in the community, and gained knowledge on the needs and concerns of the town. I currently assignments are sanitation and streets. We had made great strives to redo our water and sewage system and replace old and outdated lines as well. I can truly say that our citizens are pleased with the progress we had done so far.
Tell us about your educational background, professional experience, and/or community or civic activities.
I’m a 2005 graduate of Richmond Senior High School in Rockingham and further my education at Richmond Community College in Hamlet. Also, I’m planning on going back to further my Notary Public License in May.
I serve my community faithful as a member of Rockingham Rotary Club, Board of Directors for the Sandhills Cooperation Association, Ambassador for the Richmond County Chamber of Commerce, Mineral Springs Improvement Council, NAACP, Day Springs Lodge #44, and member of Mt. Pisgah AME Zion Church in Rockingham.
