Tell us why you would like to serve in a leadership position at the League. In particular, specify goals you would like to accomplish as an officer or board member and indicate how, if attained, they will help to achieve Vision 2030 – the League’s future vision of how cities and towns will operate in 2030.
My priorities are to ensure towns strive to accomplish the following as the elected officials interface with their citizens:
Services = Delivering quality services in a professional and cost-effective manner
Fiscal Responsibility = Providing prudent stewardship of public funds and town assets
Ethics/Integrity/Leadership = Foundational blocks of public trust
Respect = Accepting uniqueness of every individual, and differing of opinions
Teamwork = Working cooperatively with citizens to meet current goals and visionary planning for the future
Tell us about your experience as a municipal official. You may want to include information on your service on the municipal governing body, other related boards and special areas of interest.
Along with service to the citizens of Kure Beach, I am also the Town's representative to Pleasure Island Chamber of Commerce, representative to the Wilmington Urban Metropolitan Planning Organization (WMPO) and representative to Military Ocean Terminal Sunny Point (MOTSU). I am an active volunteer delivering food for the Wilmington Senior Citizen Center and active volunteer in rebuilding/refurbishing homes for the less fortunate as part of the Wilmington Area Rebuilding Ministry (WARM).

B.S. in Engineering, NCSU; Assoc. of Science in Electronics Engineering, DeVry Univ.; MS in Systems Management, Univ of So. California; MS in Systems Technology, Naval Postgraduate School; PHD in Information Technology, George Mason Univ.; Air War College, Industrial College of the Armed Forces, Air Command and Staff College, Squadron Officers School; Six Sigma Management, Villanova Univ.
Twenty-six years of active duty in the Air Force retiring as a Colonel. Twenty-one years in engineering and acquisition consulting to the Air Force. Nine years in Kure Beach government: four years on planning and zoning commission and five years as a commissioner on the town council.
